Hey, I'm Jenn Harbertson!

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have 6 kids - 4 boys, 1 girl, and 1 daughter-in-law.

Our oldest son served a mission in the Virginia Chesapeake Mission and the Brazil Porto Alegre North Mission. He Visa waited a year in Virginia before he was able to get his Visa, then spent his last year in Brazil.  Our second son served in the South Africa Durban Mission. Our third son recently returned from the Colombia MedellĂn Mission.

I have been creating these amazing, hard bound, full-color interior page books since 2010 and also books of my kids' missions while they served.  This is all done by using their weekly emails and pictures...working on them every week, for 2 years.  While creating my own son's mission books, then mission books for a few friends, and also mission books for my nephews, it was then that I decided that I really wanted to help other parents and missionary's also. Creating mission books has become my passion because I absolutely love the end result! To have their memories, experiences, spiritual experiences, and pictures from their mission in a beautiful book is so awesome! They are a keepsake and something that will be treasured for generations.

I know life is busy.  I know it can be hard to find the time to create this kind of a lasting memory for your missionary. It requires time, diligence, and learning how to do it.  I'm here to help you! Whether you have someone who's getting ready to leave on a mission, already out serving, just returned, or even if it's been a few years since they've returned, I would love to create a Mission Book for you. This will make a great gift for your missionary, for yourself, and even for your parents if they are serving or have served a mission.  I'll do all the hard work for you!

If you have any questions after reading the details, please email me at mymissionbook5@gmail.com and I'll respond in a timely manner to answer any questions. If you live in or come visit Utah County, I can personally show you the books I've created. I also have sample books on display in The Missionary Mall, The Sister Missionary Mall (both in Orem), and also the The Missionary Mall Outlet Store in Springville.
No matter where you live, we can even live video chat together and I can show you my books.

Thank you to those who have trusted me to make an amazing keepsake for generations to hold in their hands to read!  I hope you'll trust me to do the same for you. You're going to love it and so will your missionary!

How It Works

1. Once a week you email me your missionary's weekly email. You can even add my email into their "distribution" list that gets sent to your family & friends every week!  You may also email me any other information at any time that you would like included in their book (Ex. an email/letter from their Mission President).

2. If you want, "label" photos by adding a description of all the photos that you'll be sending me in that forwarded email.

3. Email pictures to me with the weekly letter or in a separate email if needed.  Only if needed, drop photos from the week into a Dropbox shared folder that I will set up for you.

4. At the end of 18 or 24 months, you will get to choose options for your final book. I'll email you some proofs to see. I'll then send it to the book printing company for them to print and they will mail it directly to you.

That's it! My service is to do all the hard work for you, every week, for 18-24 months to create an amazing book!

*If your missionary has been out for months already or they are already home, no problem!  I can start creating their book at any time.  I can also edit text for grammar/punctuation and/or edit photos! Go to the "Pricing" tab to see all the options.

Pricing

My service:

For me to complete one Mission Book, the Basic Subscription price of my service is a $15.00 per month paid via Venmo

Once I receive payment for the month, due by the 1st of each month, I will begin to build your book with their weekly letters and photos.
Book Printing:
At the end of 24 months (Elders) OR 18 months (Sisters), you'll get to pick a few last details/choices for finishing your book. Then pay the cost of the book, which is based on how many pages it comes out to.  Book costs usually range from about $65-$100, again, this depends on how many pages the book contains.  I don't make any money off of the printing.  I get a little discount from my book printers, which I pass directly onto all my clients, so they don't pay full price.  Your book purchase includes shipping/handling.  After I receive the payment, it will be printed and shipped directly to you. If you live outside the Continental U.S, shipping will be extra and I can give you that price towards the end.
For an extra small fee and only upon a request by you, I can send you a digital file format as a PDF of your completed book. The file is yours to read, print (on regular paper), and save on your computer for reference whenever you like.

Additional copies may be ordered for the same purchase price as the first book.

If I start your book after your missionary has left, I will need to receive payment of those first months up front, then start the monthly subscription pricing.  For example, if your daughter has been out on a mission for 3 months already,  I will need $45 (Basic Subscription price of $15 per month x 3 months) up front for me to catch up to where we currently are today.
ADDITIONAL SERVICES: (NO LONGER OFFERING THESE SERVICES)

-$5 additional per month: I will do some minor photo editing, including cropping, color enhancement, and red-eye reduction.

-$5 additional per month: I will edit for grammar, spelling, and punctuation. I won't change the integrity of the sentence or thought trying to be made but just check for the things I stated.

*Remember, this is my reading and editing every weekly email and/or looking at each individual photo and editing every week for 18-24 months.

-Mission Blog: For a $20.00 one time set up fee: I can make a missionary blog available for you or others to view.  Option 1: It will not be able to be found via internet search engines, but I can add specific email addresses for people to be able to view the blog (making it private and very safe).  Option 2: Still make it non-searchable but you can give the link to anyone to view it (semi-private). You can then see the progress as your book is being created by me, but know that the book will notlook like the blog.  The layout in print form will be different.
This blog will be deleted 6 months after your book is printed.

Post Mission Book Pricing

If you have a missionary or missionary couple already home and you would like a book created for them all at once, here are the pricing and options :

*1 completed 24 month book is 2 payments of $180 for Option 1. This is with no additional services.
For Option 2, the fee is 2 payments of $155. This is with no additional services.

*1 completed 18 month book is 2 payments of $135 for Option 1. This is with no additional services.
For Option 2, the fee is 2 payments of $110. This is with no additional services.

Option 1: You send me all their weekly letters, each weekly letter in a separate email with original letter date and pictures attached.  If you need to send more than one email for each week, just make sure to date them so I can keep them all straight.  I will then create a weekly entry with those emails and pictures.

Option 2. You send me all their weekly letters, each letter in an email with original letter date. Each email you send me should represent 1 weekly letter for each week that your missionary served. Then all of the pictures will be in bulk together in the back of the book, no labels, just photos, at the end of the book, behind all the weekly letters. You will just drop all of the pictures that you'd like in the book in a Dropbox shared folder that I will create for you and send you the link.  Your book will then be created with all emails, by each week all in the front of the book and all pictures in bulk together in the the back of the book.

ADDITIONAL SERVICES FOR POST MISSION BOOKS:
(NO LONGER OFFERING THESE SERVICES)

~For either Option 1 or 2 above, for a 24 month book, add $120 for photo editing and/or $120 for grammar/spelling/punctuation.
~For either Option 1 or 2 above, for an 18 month book, add $90 for photo editing and/or $90 for grammar/spelling/punctuation.

*Remember, this is my reading and editing all weekly emails and/or looking at and editing each individual photo, for all 18-24 months.

For a Post Mission Book I require the 1st payment to start creating your book, then the remaining 2nd payment when I've started creating the 2nd half of their mission.  Before printing you'll get to pick some final options for the book, and I'll send you proofs of covers and some pages to view for approval. Then you'll send me the payment for the book itself (price based however many pages it comes out to), then it will be printed and shipped directly to you.

I will try to have your book completed within 6-8 weeks after I receive ALL of your letters/pictures and then I’ll send it off for printing.

Book prices are the same as listed under the "Pricing" tab, and if requested by you, you can receive a PDF copy of your book at no additional charge. (If you live outside the Continental U.S. shipping will be extra. Ask for details.)

Ready To Get Started?!

Send me an email to mymissionbook5@gmail.com and let me know you're ready for me to start!
In your email, please include the following:
~How did you hear about me?  From a specific person or what social media site (in case I have someone to thank)?
~Your name, address, and phone number (for me to text or call you if needed).
~Your missionary's name.
~The mission he/she has been called to serve in.
~Date your missionary entered/will enter an MTC.
~Date or month of when you would like me to start, or let me know if this is one I'm going to catch up on because your missionary is currently out, or if this is a Post Mission Book.
~Adding on any additional services to the Basic Monthly Subscription(see pricing)? If yes, let me know which one/s.

Then follow these steps:

1.  If you have the Venmo app and an account already, go to step 2 below.  If you don't have the Venmo app on your smartphone or tablet, download the Venmo app.  Create a Venmo Account and then link a bank account for payments.  For a video of how to do these two things, click below:
(*When it talks about step 6 in the above video, may not be required anymore for set up.)
Also, here is the link to my Venmo Profile for payments:  https://venmo.com/Jenn-MyMissionBook

2.  Sign my Agreement Form. Click or copy & paste link in a new window.  If this link doesn't work, I'll email it to you when I hear from you via email, just let me know. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1H1qBixN1CanP-Za0rpB09PsyPu8rueKz3csaXXf7OTc/edit?usp=sharing
This is my agreement form is basically everything you've read on my website up to this point and lets me know that you know how all this works!.
Print the form, sign/initial only where applicable, take a picture of it and email the picture to me at mymissionbook5@gmail.com

3. Once a week you will email me your missionary's weekly email, or you'll start emailing me everything needed to catch up to:
Each email needs to include in the subject line, or in the original forwarded email heading that I can clearly see:
-Full name of missionary
-Date of email
-Title for the email/letter for that week (basically sums up the weekly email in one line).

An example for the subject line could be: "Elder Kaden Harbertson, 8/19/18, New Area, Learned More About Patience, I Love the People."
If you're missionary already includes a title in their original email, then just forward me their original emails, I can see their name, the date of the email, and their title already.

4. Photos: You may include up to 10 photos max per week (if you have less than 10 one week, that leaves you more for another week).  This is to help keep their 18 months to 2 years in one book.  Only if needed, you receive an invite to a shared Dropbox folder that I'll create, you'll upload photos from the week into that Dropbox shared folder. Then I'll send you some more specific instructions. *Most of my clients do not need to use Dropbox.*
To watch a video on how to upload photos to Dropbox, click below.
Don't get hung up on worrying about how many photos you send me each week.  Because if they really have that many, and love all those photos that they took, who wouldn't want 2 books in the end to hold it all if needed, right?! :) This would be a good problem to have!

5. You can send me any other information that you would like included in the book, anytime before we are ready to print.  For example, if you got a special email from the Mission President about your missionary and would like it in their book, send it to me (make sure you include your missionary's name and the date in subject line).
If you would like to start your book with pictures of your missionary opening of their mission call, their temple day, farewell Sunday/open house day, setting apart pictures, airport/MTC drop off/goodbye pics, etc, send me those!  I can start your book at whatever time frame you'd like. Again, please include missionary's name, date, and title for the entry in the subject line.

6.  If you want specific photos labeled with a description, the best way to "label" photos is to add the description of all the photos at the end of the weekly email.  This makes the format of each page of the finished book look so much better instead of adding a specific caption to each photo.  For example, at the bottom of the weekly letter you would put descriptions of the 4 pictures in the email:

Example:
1. The Trio
2. Random pigeon during dinner on Sunday
3. The view of our apartment
4. A monument on a hill
7. Pick your book finishing options!  At the end of 18 to 24 months, or whenever their time serving comes to an end, I will have you choose a few options for your final book (See Final Book Choices), send you some proofs and layouts for approval.  Then I'll have it printed, and it'll be shipped directly to you!

Important Details ~ The Fine Print

~If there are any emojis in weekly emails, I will have to take them out.  For whatever reason, the book printing company's program that intakes all the data interprets all emoji's as a picture, and will therefore print each emoji as an actual photo and place it with all the photos for that week.  This is something I can't change unfortunately.  So, just know that I'll have to take all emoji's out of weekly letters/emails.
~ Books can't contain more than 430 pages for one book.  If there are more photos and text that go over this limit, there will need to be another book created which will result in a second book cost. One Sister's album I recently completed fit into one album.  My own sons' books so far have not been able to all fit in one album (long letters and lots of photos), so I did 2 books, and split them up as year 1 and year 2. They do look awesome!  But know you'll just need to pay for a 2nd book.  I could possibly go back into your book and delete photos to keep it within the parameters of one book, but that will take a long time and be very hard for me to choose what photos to delete. Printing two books will be best. I am not able to know if one or two albums will be needed until the very end when it comes time to pick your final choices.  I will let you know then if two books will be required.

~ In order to not have to create multiple books for one mission, it will help to stay under an average of no more than 10 photos per week. Approximately 1,150 photos total per book are allowed, and depending on how much text can make it tricky to stay in one album. (If you only sent me 5 one week, that would leave more for another week.  Make sense?) Please pick the best photos!  But if you don't mind possibly purchasing 2 books (I usually split them up first 1/2 of mission on one book, second 1/2 of mission in second book) because you would like all the possible content your missionary sends, then no worries, send it all to me!
~I do not have the capability to reformat, move pictures, or move text to specific places on pages in the created book.  When the company uploads all of my organized content, it then puts it all into their program.  In this program it does not allow me to move anything around on the inside pages. Just know I can't move things around on the pages themselves. I do, however, have 4 layouts you can look at.  I will send you samples so you can see what these look like. When you pick a layout, I will send you proofs (pictures) to look at to approve.

~If I don't receive your monthly payment, I can't keep up on your book.  As soon as I receive payment, I will resume working on it :) If you choose to stop payments, and no longer want to continue with my service, I cannot offer you any refunds.  I've already put in the work, even if for any reason you don't want to continue to the printing phase.

~ When the book is ordered/printed, it's final.  I can make minor changes to additional copies, only if additional books are purchased at a separate time.

~ After your book is printed, I can only hold your book on my digital file for 3-6 months.  After 3-6 months from print date, it will be deleted. Remember that with your book purchase, if you request it and pay an additional small fee, you can receive your book in a digital file format (PDF), for you to read, print, and save on your computer for reference whenever you like.

~I will honestly do my absolute best at making sure the content I upload from the letters and pictures you send are in order and correct, and that if I'm editing, that what I change is correct, in information, as well as spelling, in the content that I add.  I strive to pay attention to details and get out all correct.  But please remember that I'm human and not perfect.♡

~I can get customer service help from the book company, if there's an error on their part as far as how the book was printed or if there was damage to a book in the shipping process (very rare for either to happen, they are such a good company).  I will just need pictures from you to show the company so they know how they can help remedy the problem.  The very few times I've had a problem with a book, and it's their fault, they send out another copy asap for no additional cost.

Reviews

"We are so grateful we found My Mission Book before we left on our mission.  Documenting our thoughts and feelings through journal entries and photographs of the people and things we did on our mission is so important to us. We just never want to lose those memories and now we have them in a beautiful, high quality book.  We also appreciate how quickly Jenn had it done and back in our hands after our return home.  It will be a treasure for always."
Russell & Betsy, Couples Mission, Saratoga Springs, UT
"We’ve loved looking through Jessen’s book.  As parents, having a high-quality, well-organized book with all of his weekly emails and with the photos included by week makes looking back enjoyable and easy to connect the dots of his stories."
Bryce H., Missionary Dad, Phoenix, AZ

"I absolutely LOVE my mission book. It is such a wonderful way to be able to quickly look back over the fond memories and also funny moments of my mission. I can read the stories and there are pictures for each part of the book. The best way to remember the two years I served."
Jessen H., Returned Missionary, Provo, UT
"Dear Jenn,
Thank you for doing such a great job on the mission book for our son!  We really enjoyed your thoroughness and thoughtfulness throughout the process.  The end result is a beautiful, priceless treasure reflecting our son’s two years of service among the beautiful people of Mexico.
Very best,
Grant", Missionary Dad, UT
"My daughter loved receiving her mission book on Easter. It was so special to sit as a family and look at her photos and memories.
Thank you Jenn Harbertson for being so patient with me and working on my timeline. We love the finished product. The yellow cover is so fun. The book is good quality and pages are hardy. I ordered two. One for her and one for me. It is a time in her life we want to remember always. She was blessed for her service and so were we. I recommend using this service. It was so easy and I was grateful for her knowledge and ability to pull it together for me. Thank you!"
-Polly H., Missionary Mom, Pleasant Grove, UT
"My experience with My Mission Book has been marvelous. From the collecting of letters and pictures to choosing styles for the hard-bound book, the process was simple and enjoyable. I felt encouraged to write while on the mission because I knew that it would be something my children and grandchildren could have and treasure in the future. Today, as I read and looked over its pages for the first time, I fell in love with my mission experience again. I enjoyed remembering the details of my first weeks in the MTC and in the field. It all came flooding back. I even recalled a few details I wanted to write down in my personal journal. One of the things I love about My Mission Book is that it allows me to see how the Lord was in the details of my life and the lives of those whom we taught every step of the way. I continue to make connections and see how God prepared me and them for the experiences we had and will have in the future. Thank you for this pearl of genealogy that I will be able to pass down to generations to come!"
-Jacob N., Returned Missionary, Ridgefield, WA
"We are so blessed to have used My Mission Book so that we have a record of letters, emails and photos from our son's mission to Mexico.  Jenn, the owner, was great to work with.  She explained how everything goes from the beginning.  She would let us know if a week's letter or photos were missing.  The quality of the book is outstanding.  I love the choices of covers, colors and how the pages are smooth and thick to last for a long time.
For two years my son gave his time to sharing the gospel and now he can always go back and remember his experiences.  Thank you!!"
-Alisa N., Missionary Mom, Ridgefield, WA
"Jenn is incredible. Working with her to accomplish such a big project was so nice. She was organized, followed up, and did an amazing job on the final project. I love my book. It is so nice to have my whole mission in one book to remind myself of one of the most amazing experiences of my life. And I love sharing it with others. It is a high-quality book and I have already had people ask me about how they could get one as well!"
-Kinsie R., Returned Missionary, Pleasant Grove, UT
"They (her 2 daughters) LOVED them! Oh man, they couldn’t believe how much they had forgotten about their missions and were so grateful to have all their letters all compiled.  It was such a special gift!  Thanks so much for all your work on their books."
-Cydney K., Missionary Mom, Ogden, UT
"Thank you so much! Jennifer absolutely loves it!! I took the attached picture to show you. She has been just like this since she opened it about 3 hours ago.  Thank you for helping me with the perfect gift for Jennifer! This was by far the most meaningful gift she could have!"
-Lesli B., Missionary Mom, Mapleton, UT

-Jen D., Missionary Mom, Orem, UT
"Jenn did an amazing job on my son's mission book.  Her attention to detail was incredible.  She looked carefully through my son's letters, and made sure we included all the photos he mentioned.  Jenn was great to work with--she completed the project sooner than expected and responded quickly to all emails.  We will treasure our son's mission book and are so grateful to have these special memories preserved.  Thank you, Jenn!"
-Laura S., Missionary Mom, Vancouver, WA
"My son loves his mission book!  This was perfect for me.  I’m not tech savvy, so it was really nice to forward my missionary’s emails and photos to Jenn each week for her to organize.  The book turned out amazing!  It is a high quality and professional looking book.  My missionary has looked through it over and over again.  Jenn is super easy to work with and was very responsive to all my questions.  I have two more future missionaries and I plan on using My Mission Book again for both of them.  I highly recommend this product!"
-Melinda M., Missionary Mom, Pleasant Grove, UT
"As a returned missionary myself, I know how important that time of your life is.  I wanted both of my daughters to always have a “go to” place that was organized with their letters and photos of that special time in their lives.
Both of my girls have told me how much they appreciate it and have enjoyed going back thru and reading their letters and seeing the  pictures.
Jenn was wonderful to work with and made it so easy to email her everything and have it all organized for me.
I had Jenn start to put together one book during the mission for one daughter.  The other was for my daughter who had been home for two years.  It was fantastic.
So grateful to have those memories organized and easy to access.
True treasures for us all to enjoy!"
- Jennifer C., Missionary Mom, Pleasant Grove, UT
“I had the most wonderful experience with My Mission Book. My daughter had almost finished her mission when I first heard about this product so I took advantage of the post mission book pricing option and then forwarded all her emails and photos to Jenn Harbertson unedited. She kindly worked with me to add in some extra Mission newsletter items of significance. She also worked extremely hard to provide the product I wanted coming up with some ideas where I was stuck. I knew what I wanted but couldn’t express it; she was able to figure it out. She was very patient, always available and willing to get into the detail of what I wanted. What could have ended up as just emails in a folder somewhere on a shelf is now a beautifully bound volume of work that is now a family keepsake (we ordered three). The production and finish on the book is superb!"
- Charlie B., Missionary Dad, Vancouver, WA
"My mission books are THE BEST!!  We recently received our book from Jenn and I can’t say enough about how great the book is and how EASY the process was.  I was nervous about contacting Jenn because I am not very techy and I wasn’t sure that I was going to be able to figure out the process. But Jenn walked me through what I needed to do and it was actually really easy!  If I can do it, anyone can do it! The book was a surprise for my daughter for her birthday and she was so excited when she opened it, she loves her mission book! It will be something we will treasure forever."
- Angie G., Missionary Mom, Highland, UT
“I love my mission book!  It’s really nice to be able to take a moment now and then and look through the memories that I made on my mission. When I'm having hard days it's good for me to look back and see what I had accomplished and all the fun and spiritual times I had on my mission.  It really gives me an extra push when I need it.”
- Mason S., Returned Missionary, Provo, UT
"I love my son's mission book!  It was so easy to forward the weekly emails and pictures.  I was so thankful to not have to figure out how to do this kind of thing myself...I don't have time for that!  I love how it turned out!  I ordered one for my son and one for myself.  It will be a wonderful keepsake for generations to come."
- Angie S., Missionary Mom, Vancouver, WA

"I love these mission books! It's really special to sit with my husband and read through his. It let me see how he spent 2 years of his life! It was really fun to look through photos and laugh about the crazy things that happened to him in Brazil as well as reading about the spiritual experiences he had. I am already looking forward to the day where we can share these books with our children! When we have missionaries one day we will definitely get these books made for them so they can share their mission memories with their own spouses, children and grandchildren."
- Chandler H., Wife of Returned Missionary, Orem, UT

"My mission book is such a special thing for me to have now that I'm home from my mission.  I have all my weekly emails and anything else I wanted put in there including pictures!  It's a great resource to me when I need help remembering something or just want to take a trip down memory lane.  It was also good knowing while serving my mission that all my letters and pictures would be going into a book because it motivated me to keep up on weekly emails and remember to put all my experiences in them. This was a great gift to receive!"
- Shelby L., Returned Missionary, Logan, UT
"I absolutely love my mission book!  Being able to go and look back at my book anytime always helps me reflect on my mission and remember the incredible experiences I had.  Not only does it have my personal emails that I sent home to my family but also the pictures associated with it.  So many times I look back while reading and remember experiences that I had forgotten about.  I’m so glad my mother did this for me!"
-Cameron H., Returned Missionary, Orem, UT
